Pt England Beach

In this picture we were waiting for the people on the waka to come. Once they came we started to sing the Waiata song and started to do the haka. These people who are standing in front are the ones that were chosen to represent there school. I felt proud because we were lucky to see the people who have travelled all around the world.

Writing Assessment Term 1 2015

My experience of the Hokulea at Pt England Reserve.

On Wednesday we went to the Pt England Beach. They came in a boat and we all sang the Waiata song and we where all told to stand up.

The first thing I saw was lots of buses , students , parents and teachers. I can see the water following each other like they where marching left right left. They had some students from Pt England to say a few words.

There where over 2,000 students at the beach. The schools that attended there was Pt England , St Pius X Catholic School , St Patricks School , Tamaki Primary School , Tamaki College , Stonefield , Glen Brae and Te Kura. After we had the welcome speeches we had to go and shake hands with the crew of the Hokulea Kanu. They said “ to run and smack there hand as we run past them.”

The first school that went was Pt England. We waited so long it was like waiting for the bus to come. Second went St Patricks they went so fast it was like we did not even see them , Third went Stonefield they were a little faster , Fourth went St Pius us , Fifth Te Kura School , sixth Glen Brae , seventh went Panmure Bridge School , Eighth went Tamaki Primary and last was Tamaki College but they went for some reason.

After we all have went our school came to the field and waited for the bus and the others were getting ready to walk and we were getting ready to go on the bus. Then the bus driver told us that we can use two buses to go back to school so we went and got the others that were about to walk.

So we were all lucky to go on the bus back to school. We all got back to school at the same time. We were all exhausted and I was so tired I can not barely walk.

On the second week of the holidays we had a movie night. It was held at my aunties house. The first night was so cool! It was amazing. We picked so many different movies to watch. We even watched 'The Lovely Bones'. It was scary! But then we all fell asleep! I even had a nightmare about it! I dreamt that my sister had been hanged on a large rope and my mum hanged beside her! I screamed and woke up and started crying! But then I realised it was all just a dream. More like a nightmare!

Then we had a dance competition. It was girls against the boys. I was so excited because I knew that the boys will win! So we got to work! Firstly we had to choose a song. We chose "Turn down for what!" It was a hard song to dance for but we got there it the end! We had dance moves that involved jazz, hip hop and even style and swagg! Then we performed it to the girls. I was nervous inside and shaking on the outside!.

I had alot of fun during my holidays it was the best day ever.

Today in we learnt about music notation's and we  also learnt about a treble clef.
